'JR' started this company in 1957 with an ex-army Bedford bought in a local auction for £17. His first venture was selling logs and firewood. Replacing the Bedford with a Morris Commercial, cost steeply rising to £35 for this truck. He continued to grow the company and in 1981, operating a successful haulage business he moved to Chesney Farm.
